30 September 2013  |

Dirt School is proud to announce it is bringing one of the biggest names in global cyclocross to Scotland next month for a one off CX coaching weekend.

Simon Burney is one of cyclocross best-known faces, with over 30 years at the forefront of the sport. As well as racing, Simon has also managed some of the sport's brightest stars including world champions Dominique Arnauld and Henrik Djernis .

But for most racers, Simon is best known as the man behind "Cyclocross: Training and Technique," which is now in its third edition and remains the definitive cyclocross "how to" guide.

The one day coaching sessions will take place in Glasgow's Pollok Park on October 12 and 13, where Simon will be joined by Dirt School's very own Rab Wardell - the reigning Scottish Cyclocross Champion. Each course will guide you through the skills needed to get ahead in the sport from technique and race craft right through to fitness and training.

Chris Ball, founder of Dirt School, said: "This is an unbelievable opportunity for anyone interested in cyclocross. Simon Burney is a legend of the sport and we couldn't be more excited that he's taken time out of his hectic schedule to work with us. I've worked with Simon for a long time and if there is anyone more passionate or knowledgeable about cyclocross than I've yet to meet them."

Simon adds: "Dirt School is one of the top coaching companies in the UK so it's great to join forces and work together on their first ever cyclocross clinic. I'm looking forward to getting up to Scotland and working with Rab who is pretty handy on a cyclocross bike himself."

The sessions will run from 10am - 4pm on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13 and cost £95 each. Numbers are strictly limited to 12 per day and as they are expected to sell out quickly anyone who fancies taking part should head over to www.dirtschool.co.uk for more information.
